The Mineralienkontor Bremen is partner of WiN=WiN Fair Stone
The m.k.b. Mineralienkontor Bremen lmakes its contribution to a responsible, socially acceptable acquisition in the global dimension stone industry through its partnership with Fair Stone.
Fair Stones is an international social and environmental standard for the global dimension stone industry which targets an improvement of the working constions in mines, stone pits and processing plants in the developing and emerging countries.
As a Fair Stone partner, m.k.b. has a sustainable globalization on its agenda:
- No exploitative child labour
- No forced labour
- Strict obedience of ILO-conventions
- Safety and healthiness at work
- Protection of the environment and natural resources
The m.k.b. Mineralienkontor Bremen M.K.B is accountable for the improvement of working conditions in the stone pits and processing plants, that have agreed to a cooperatition with Fair Stone and the matching standards within the next three years. The company is being assisted an attended by the Fair Stone Team.
The realization of the standrads of Fair Stone will be monitored and instructed by local inspectors and independent projectteams. In adition, all Fair Stone deliveries of m.k.b. Mineralienkontor Bremen will be feeded into an internet application call Tracing Fair Stone, which ensures a proper monitoring.
Furthermore, the management of the namend Fair Stone deliverers are conscious of the necessity of spot checks in the plants in order to ensure the credibility of the seal at themarket.
With the Fair Stone partnership m.k.b. Mineralienkontor Bremen promotes a sustainable and fair trade in the global dimension stone industry and, by this, supports demands of costumers, media and the civil society of appropiate condition in the production and sourcing.
